The northern lights are a spectacular thing to witness and one astronaut was kind enough to share his incredible view with us down on earth.

American astronaut Scott Kelly has been in space for the past 143 days and has posted beautiful photos and videos of what he’s witnessed so far. Just the other day, he and his fellow International Space Station dwellers had front row seats to the magical northern lights.

The photo is remarkable enough, but then Kelly went further by posting this beauty of a video:

We bet you’ve never seen the northern lights like this before. They beautifully dance around the earth, slowly enveloping the globe like a rainbow on steroids. It’s really awe-inspiring stuff, don’t you think?
