Close your eyes and try to picture a place where, upon walking in, you’re showered with gifts and kind compliments. Now open ’em. Did you by any chance picture a bank? ‘Cause we sure didn’t. However, Toronto-Dominion (TD) Bank has proved that there can be such a bank with their heartfelt #TDThanksYou video that’s now gone viral.
In branches all over Canada, TD has been giving thanks to their loyal customers. In one case, they turned an ATM into an Automated Thanking Machine. Yes, instead of dispensing the money from your account, this machine gave out tonnes of free stuff. Super cool, right?
While most customers got money and a thank you from the magical machine, other more well-known customers got personalized gifts, accompanied with tear jerking stories.
One senior named Dorothy, whose only daughter is suffering from cancer in Trinidad, got a lovely card from TD thanking her for being such a kind, loving mother. The bank then took it one step further by gifting her two tickets to Trinidad so she could go see her child.
Aren’t your eyes tearing up? Ours are.
TD gave another mother a cheque of $1,000 to start an RESP for her two kids — and a trip to DisneyLand. In addition to that, the bank also pulled out all the stops for a long-time customer Michael, who’s a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. Not only did he get a Jays hat and jersey, he also got to meet Jays outfielder Jose Batista AND throw the first pitch at a home game.
The video starts off with this message “sometimes you just want to say thank you” and boy did they deliver.
Thank you for such an adorably Canadian video, TD.
