Through all of his comedy, film and TV projects over the years, we’ve gotten to know Aziz Ansari as a loud and hilariously crass comedian . But yesterday on social media, the actor gave us a glimpse of his much softer side.

Aziz took to his Facebook account to post an adorably touching tribute to his parents Shoukath and Fatima Ansari, who were cast in the roles of, you guessed it, his TV parents on his new show Master of None.

In the heartwarming post, Aziz gushed about how proud he is of his parents, how much he treasured working with them on the show and how the experience has brought them closer together. He even advised us to seek out a closer relationship with our folks and to make sure we appreciate them in our lives.

It’s nice to see that Aziz can be a big softy. What a sweet tribute.

Time to go call Mom and Dad.
