BB-8 may be the cutest droid since R2-D2, but that doesn’t excuse him/her (droids don’t have genders, people) from the royal protocol. Princes William and Harry attended the British premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Tuesday night and met the little robot on the red carpet. BB-8 then proceeded to bow to the princes (as you do) and everyone thought it was pretty much the most adorable thing they had ever seen.

Yes, that was a bow. A tiny, round, droid bow from the most precious member of the entire franchise (sorry, John Boyega). You might think that something that small would go unnoticed. Not in the age of the internet. The Twittersphere lost its collective mind.

We have no doubts that the little move made the princes’ night. They’ve proven to be quite the Star Wars fans and they even make cameos as storm troopers in the new film. Keep your eye out for the troopers that are about three inches taller than the rest. The Daily Mail reports that William and Harry stand at 6 ft. 2 in. and 6 ft. 1 in. respectively while storm troopers have to be 5 ft. 11 in. The royal duo visited the studios last April for more than just that storm trooper fun. They also met the cast, played with light sabers, piloted a ship and checked out the props department.
We’re not sure who we’re more jealous of: BB-8 for getting to hang out with the princes or the princes for getting to hang out with BB-8. Either way, we’re pretty excited to see The Last Jedi when it comes out on Dec. 15.
