It’s spring, which means wedding season is underway and brides and grooms everywhere are spending lots and lots of their hard earned money on one very special day. Or, in this case, on someone else’s very special day. And nope, we’re not talking about a human.

Last Sunday, 42 dog owners got into the wedding spirit when 21 sets of canines in Beijing walked all four legs down the aisle to the alter in the city’s first ever massive dog wedding. Yup, you read that right. There was a full-blown wedding for dogs. Dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds.

We’re talking little doggie dresses and tuxes, flowers, top hats and more. People even arrived with their pooches in luxury cars. The things people will do for their pets, huh?

The ceremony was held in a city park that was equally decked out with arches, banquet tables and a rose-petal “aisle,” and was “officiated” by the secretary general of China’s Committee of Wedding Service Industries.

No word on how these guys all found their puppy love, or whether they went through any couples training classes first. Their future living arrangements are also still a bit questionable, but hey — lots of married couples don’t live together anymore anyways.

Check out some of the photos from the big day:
