LOOKS LIKE BENSAY IS OVER

Ben Affleck is back in the press again, not for his films, which is probably a good thing considering the heat he’s taken for his role as Batman, but for his love life. Hm. That’s not much better. The actor has been dating SNL producer Lindsay Shookus for the past year, but now it looks like the pair have split.

Shookus deactivated her Instagram account this week, a move also known as the 2018 equivalent of announcing a breakup. The pair were last seen together in July, with Shookus skipping Affleck’s 46th birthday party this week. Adding more fuel to the break up rumour fire, Affleck’s latest sighting hasn’t been with Shookus, but with 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton. Ruh row.

According to a source, Affleck and Sexton looked like they were on a first date when they were spotted having dinner together recently.

Maybe Affleck was talking to Sexton about a role in his next film, or maybe he wanted a woman’s advice on a gift to give Shookus. Of course, Affleck and Sexton could just be frien…we can’t even type it. No one thinks they’re friends.

CRAZY RICH BOX OFFICE

It looks like everyone and their uncle saw Crazy Rich Asians on opening weekend and loved it. So yeah, audiences want to see themselves on screen. Why is this still so shocking?

The adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s popular novel took the number one spot at the box office this weekend, earning $25.2 million in North America. The last time a PG-13 rated romantic comedy did that well at the box office on opening weekend was in 2012 with Think Like A Man, which featured an all-black cast. Anyone else sensing a trend? Oh yeah, AUDIENCES WANT TO SEE THEMSELVES ON SCREEN. Sorry for yelling, it just feels like studio heads aren’t really *getting* it.

As for movies that didn’t make an impact at the theatres this weekend, Kevin Spacey’s new film Billionaire Boys Club reportedly brought in $126. Ironic, we know.

To recap, amazing movies with a diverse cast – good. Movies starring sexual predators – bad.

SELENA GOMEZ GETS TATTOOS WITH ‘BEST FRIENDS’

What is the age where it’s no longer appropriate to use the term ‘best friend?’ Is it six? Maybe seven? For Selena Gomez, who recently turned 26, the term ‘best friend’ is still applicable to everyday conversation. It’s also a position with a high rate of turnaround for the pop star.

It seems like just yesterday Gomez was declaring her love for best friend Taylor Swift. Then Gomez received a kidney from Francia Raisa, and Raisa was bumped up to the best friend designation (rightly so). Now, Gomez has gotten a tattoo to cement her best friend status with three people we’ve never even heard of! Who are these women? Have they danced with her at award shows and warned her about Justin Bieber? Did they donate an organ?

Here’s hoping the tattoos are washable, because Gomez changes best friends more often that we change our socks.

KYLIE JENNER COVERS VOGUE, ALLOWED TO STAY IN FAMILY

Self-made billionaire Kylie Jenner has landed her first Vogue cover, making her the new favourite daughter of Kris Jenner. The new mom wears a ‘no-makeup makeup’ look on the cover of Vogue Australia, which seems like an odd choice considering she’s almost in the three commas club thanks to her hugely successful lip kit line.

Jenner was interviewed for the magazine by her supermodel sister, Kendall Jenner, who may not have said out loud that she’s already been on the cover of Vogue, but was probably thinking it the whole time.

In the new interview, the sisters discussed fighting over Barbies as kids (as if they couldn’t afford doubles), Kylie’s new life as mom to daughter Stormi, and her decision to start Kylie Cosmetics. Jenner launched the make-up line in response to looking for a lip kit that would help her feel less insecure about her lips. In just three years, Kylie Cosmetics has made $630 million. We need to start being more productive with our insecurities.

VOGUE was once just a wild dream! Thank you @vogueaustralia for this cover!

DEMI AND BRUCE CELEBRATED RUMER’S BIRTHDAY AND NO ONE GOT ROASTED

Just a few weeks after reuniting on stage at the Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis, the action star and his former wife Demi Moore were back together again this weekend to celebrate their daughter Rumer Willis’ 30th birthday. The party, which included all three of the couple’s children, was free of Die Hard jokes and Dennis Rodman.

Demi and Bruce separated in 2000 after 13 years of marriage, but have remained on friendly terms as evidenced by Moore’s speech for her ex at his recent roast and their pics together at Rumer’s birthday party. While it’s clear that the former couple have been able to make their friendship work for the sake of their kids, we’re still unsure as to how they decided on the name Rumer. Thirty years later and it still hasn’t caught on.
