It’s only been two weeks since Jennifer Garner staged an intervention with her ex Ben Affleck and helped the actor check into a Malibu rehab facility, but Affleck already appears to be taking extended breaks from his treatment. Spotted at his home on Wednesday, Affleck is reportedly taking trips to his house in Los Angeles to use hip gym, but these breaks from his treatment centre also include visits from his new girlfriend, 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton.
Exactly which of the 12 steps is ‘Start a new relationship immediately?’ We’re pretty sure that’s not part of his recovery plan. Oh Ben, this doesn’t look good.
After spending multiple days drinking at home alone, Affleck was accompanied by Garner and a sober coach when he entered a rehab facility on August 22. The actor reportedly went willingly, acknowledging his relapse and realizing that he needed help.
On Wednesday, new photographs of Affleck back home just two weeks after starting his rehab program surfaced online, with sources saying he simply goes home for work outs and is accompanied by a coach and therapist. While at first this doesn’t appear too troubling, paparazzi also snapped pictures of Sexton’s car outside of Affleck’s home, which makes it seem like the actors home visits have more to do with his social life.
This most recent stint in rehab is Affleck’s third, having first sought treatment in 2001 for alcohol addiction and again in 2017. Although Garner and Affleck had already separated before Affleck’s 2017 rehab stay, she was still a huge supporter of his decision to seek treatment, which the Batman star spoke about publicly on his Facebook page. Once again supporting her ex, who she shares three children with, Garner has taken an active role in Affleck’s recovery.
To be fair to Sexton, the 22-year-old isn’t responsible for his decisions. She wrote on Instagram: “Ben is a grown ass man, baby. Blaming a 22 year old for someone’s 3rd time in rehab is just ridiculous. He is human. I am human. You are human. We all are going to fuck up it’s just a matter of learning from it. Don’t be so quick to throw shade on people. Take a step back, accept that we are all on our own journey, and be a little less critical.”
Here’s hoping Affleck sticks with his treatment program.
