If you’re looking for a career change, we have a job that just about anyone will love.
Mondelēz International, the British company that makes Cadbury and Oreo, is on the hunt for a professional chocolate taster. We’ve been preparing our whole lives for this role.
The official title for the position will be a ‘Chocolate and Cocoa Beverage Taster,’ which you can find on the LinkedIn posting. And if you get the job, you’ll be expected to work 7.5 hours per week, between 12:15 pm to 2:45 pm Tuesdays to Thursdays, meaning you get to sleep in AND have a four day weekend. It literally keeps getting better and better. The only drawback is that the job’s in the U.K., so you’ll have to be willing to relocate if you want to spend your days sampling luxury chocolates.
The responsibilities for this dream job are smooth and milky with just a hint of nuttiness and cinnamon. See? We’re totally ready. The taster must be able to give honest feedback, work with a team of 11 panelists to agree on taste, clearly define products, be consistent in their descriptions and be willing to help create new products that are launched all over the world. Also, they should be prepared to be the envy of everyone they meet.
The job does call for a few qualifications, but we think we’re still the ideal candidates:
“A passion for confectionary and taste buds for detection.”
“Honesty when it comes to giving an opinion.”
“Eager to try new inventive products.”
“A communicative personality to build great relationships with your panel.”
“A firm grasp of the English language.”
Time to start updating your resume and collecting your references — you’re more than qualified, and this is a job worth taking.
