The BRIT Awards, basically Britain’s version of the Grammys, were Wednesday night and Beyoncé and Jay-Z took the award for Best International Group. They weren’t on-hand to accept the honour but knew ahead of time they were getting it so they made a little acceptance video. But not just any acceptance video; rather, one that was very similar to a scene from their video for “APESH*T,” which featured the couple standing in front of the Mona Lisa. But instead of the Mona Lisa, this time the portrait was of Duchess Meghan.

Bey took to another post to thank the BRITs, not only for honouring her and her “best friend, the GOAT Hova,” but also reminding us that back in 2002, she, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, also received the honour. She concluded her post by writing that she and Jay “bow down to one of our Melanated Monas,” a.k.a. Meghan, OMG.

But that was just a summary of Bey’s thoughts and feelings. At the end of the Carters’ acceptance video, you can hear a child’s voice (presumably Blue Ivy‘s) asking, “WHY??” Well, all month now, Beyoncé has been spotlighting various people of colour and her latest tribute is to the woman formerly known as Meghan Markle, recognizing and further explaining all the good that she did, continues to do and how she and Prince Harry continue to “push the race relations dialogue forward.” Again, OMG.

HA! The timing of this couldn’t be more perfect — during Black History Month AND at an awards show across the pond, in the thick of where the main hate for Meghan lies. The Carters did not mess around, putting the tabloids on notice and letting despicable racists know the entire world is watching so they better start showing Meghan some respect real quick. Otherwise Beyoncé will sic the Beyhive on them — and no one wants that. Hell, no one can handle that wrath. If that’s not a signal for them to step up or step off, we don’t what is. Let the change in tides begin!
