Back in April, when Beyoncé dropped Lemonade after her HBO special, the Internet lost it. But it was “Daddy Lessons,” which references Bey’s pre-Destiny’s Child Texas roots, that had people wondering if it was a country song at heart. Those who live and breath country music scoffed while others supported its authenticity. The latter includes the Dixie Chicks, who have covered Lemonade‘s sixth track throughout their tour, so it was just so right that they all came together to perform it for us live.

From the “yee-haw!” and “Texas” said four times in the beginning, to the middle as Bey and Natalie Maines traded verses with a little bit of “Long Time Gone” thrown in, to the end when Nat took on Blue Ivy’s cameo, exclaiming “Good job, Bey!” it was basically six minutes of perfection.

The sweet collab of strong women, four Texas women who weren’t on the CMA’s official list of performers until mere hours before they took the stage, was brilliant and how could you not be clapping the entire time? A good time was had by all. Well, all but Kenny Chesney, who looked less than impressed. But who cares?? Bey, Natalie, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire (hot damn, her fiddling skills!) had a blast and that’s all that mattered.
