Most members of the Beyhive don’t need a special reason to celebrate Beyoncé, but with the singer’s 38th birthday taking place on September 4, now is a better time than ever. Queen Bey got her own b-day celebrations started early this year, with the singer enjoying a weekend of music and a giant cake while surrounded by family and friends. Even a low-key Beyoncé party still looks aspirational.Beyoncé spent the weekend with husband Jay-Z at his Made In America Festival, with the annual event featuring two days of music over Labour Day in Philadelphia. This year’s festival continued the hot girl summer trend and was ruled by female performers, including Meghan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, and Lizzo, who understandably lost her cool when she realized Beyoncé was standing side stage during her set.

Beyoncé shared snaps of herself from the festival, with the singer effectively bringing fanny packs back into fashion and making them cool once more. Wearing strappy heels and green shorts, Beyoncé posed in a parking garage, showed off a gold band grill, and uploaded a pic of herself shielding her face while backstage at the two-day festival.

Beyoncé and co. got her birthday celebration started early this week, with the Grammy winner also uploading a second set of images and videos, this time including a clip of the singer being serenaded by friends and family, including husband Jay Z and her nephew Daniel, son to Bey’s sister Solange. The gallery also includes a picture of a relaxed looking Jay Z lounging on a boat, with the couple taking in the sights of Philadelphia before the festival. The couple's three children, including 7-year-old Blue Ivy and 2-year-old twins Rumi and Sir, don’t appear to be at mom’s party, but with Wednesday as Beyoncé's actually birthday, there’s a good chance the festivities will continue and include the youngest members of the Carter family.

Beyoncé’s mom Tina Lawson marked today’s special occasion by sharing an emotional and heartfelt post for her eldest daughter’s birthday, remembering the difficult time when she lost her own mother only months before becoming pregnant with Bey. Naming Beyoncé as her best friend, Tina says her daughter’s heart is as big as Texas and calls her ‘one of the best moms ever.’
