Mathew Knowles is ready to show the world just what it takes to produce a best-selling pop group—and wants to do it on Broadway.

Beyoncé’s dad shared that he’s producing Survivor: The Destiny’s Child Musical, and plans to show “the victories and failures that I’ve had as a husband, father and manager who risked everything in pursuit of fulfilling dreams.” So Beyoncé’s road to stardom story, this is not.

Those dreams, of course, helped to bring Bey, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams into our lives way back in 1990 and give us hits like “Bills, Bills, Bills,” “Say My Name,” “Bootylicious,” and “Survivor.”

Queen Bey and her dad parted ways in 2011 but the split was a professional one, and apparently amicable, with Beyoncé saying in a statement at the time, “He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”

The Destiny’s Child Musical is set to debut in Beyonce’s hometown of Houston as early as 2020 before expanding to London’s West End and Broadway.
