In the no-duh move of the century, Billboard has announced that Queen Mariah Carey will be the 2019 recipient of the Icon Award at next month’s Billboard Music Awards. In addition to receiving the honour, Mariah will also perform a medley of some of her greatest hits at the show. TBH, that sounds like all we’ve ever wanted.

“Carey led the Billboard Hot 100 in each year of the 1990s, making her the only artist to top the chart in every year of any decade,” Billboard shared in a statement. “And [she] has had 18 total No. 1s on the chart, the most among any soloist. Additionally, her 79 total weeks ruling the Hot 100 are the most of any artist.”

They also note that six of her albums have claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Of course, since the news broke, the Lambily has been out in full force supporting their diva. They always knew it, but now they have the concrete proof that Mariah is I-C-O-N-I-C.

Mariah joins past groundbreaking recipients of the Billboard Icon Award like Cher, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Jennifer Lopez.

The 2019 Billboard Music Awards, hosted by Kelly Clarkson, will air live on Wednesday, May 1, at 8 p.m. ET on CTV2.
