Because Carrie Fisher was nothing short of amazing, her daughter, Billie Lourd, knew just how to pay tribute to her on the one-year anniversary of her death. Billie was in Norway and took to Instagram to share one of her mom’s favourite things and revealed how her trip wouldn’t be forgotten — thanks to Carrie.
The caption, which might make you cry, consider yourselves warned, also included a bunch of emojis that spelled out “She drowned in moonlight strangled by her own bra,” which just happens to be a popular quote from Fisher’s book, Wishful Drinking.
“My momby had an otherworldly obsession with the northern lights, but I never got to see them with her. We journeyed to northern Norway to see if we might “see the heavens lift up her dark skirts and flash her dazzling privates across [our] unworthy irises”. And she did. I love you times infinity,” wrote Lourd.
Fisher died on Dec. 27, 2016 after suffering a heart attack. Fisher’s mother, Debbie Reynolds, died of a stroke one day before her daughter. Lourd also marked her grandmother’s death by posting a pic of Reynolds and Fisher.
Beautiful yet simple tributes to two spectacular women. You both continue to be missed, Carrie and Debbie.
