New mom Blake Lively normally kills it on the red carpet, without the help of a stylist. She’s known for it, in fact. But this recent red carpet look that lands, metaphorically speaking, somewhere between Catwoman and Tinkerbell (not a duo we’d want to mess with), has us wondering if it’s not time for her to hire a bit of help.
Motherhood is hard, Blake. It’s OK to ask for some assistance. Don’t think of them as stylists, but instead, think of them more as consultants.
But Blake wasn’t the only one who looked like they needed a stylist (or a new stylist) this week. Check out these less-than-commendable looks from Salma Hayek, Kate Moss, Anna Kendrick and more.
Blake Lively’s kid must be tiring her out, because this outfit is just wow
Alexa ChungIf Alexa Chung is supposed to be Fashion’s It Girl, then can someone please tell us why she decided this was a good outfit choice? Grandma called (and you know how she struggles with these new smartphones). She wants her nightgown back.Getty Images
Anna KendrickFunny girl Anna Kendrick might’ve been wearing this belt ironically, but probably not. She looks, to be blunt, like a wrestler. Probably not a very good one. We understand the desire to throw on accessories last minute, but sometimes, your first choice is the right one.Getty Images
Arlenis SosaModel Arleen's Sosa, who has walked in past Victoria’s Secret runway shows, is hot. But just because you’ve been blessed with good genes doesn’t mean you need to show it ALL off. The underwear pretending to be shorts and the sheer top with two smattering nipple-covering lace just ain’t classy. Let’s leave something to the imagination, Arlenis.Getty Images
Ashley WilliamsHow I Met Your Mother actress, Ashley Williams stood out like a bullseye in this red, silk number earlier this week. From the deep V, to the cap sleeve detail, it may have looked like a bullseye, but this look definitely missed the mark.Getty Images
Blake LivelyNew mom Blake Lively arrived at the premiere of her most recent film, The Shallows, in what can only be described as a latex corset over a taffeta tutu skirt. Half dominatrix, half ballerina, this outfit is as confused as we are.Getty Images
Busy PhilippsWe love a good crop top and culotte combo, but the proportions on actress Busy Philipps’ outfit didn’t add up. A longer short length hitting below the knee, or a different top would’ve worked much better.Getty Images
Christina MilianAlso spotted in L.A. this week was singer Christina Milian, who chose to rock a figure skating-inspired dress to the event. While the peach colour was an A+, the dress itself dragged it down to a C+ at best, with its too-revealing neckline, and ivy and flower decals.Getty Images
Gillian JacobsThe funny, lovely and talented Gillian Jacobs showed up to an event wearing a dress that looked like it had been plucked from a Victorian era exhibit at a museum. We do love her lace up sandals, but we don’t love the high collar and ruffled hem of this pale blue dress.Getty Images
Kate MossWho’s doing Kate Moss’ laundry? Apparently, she had a tough time finding clothes that fit her this week. The sparkly green blazer, black shirt and pants all look a little short for the lengthy lady.Getty Images
Kate MossWearing a purple dress with billowy sleeves and an obnoxious eyesore of a pattern, Kate Moss lost our hearts when she decided to borrow her dress from the set of Saved By The Bell.Getty Images
Kelly OsbourneKelly Osbourne gave us the sartorial cold-shoulder this week, and we didn’t like it one bit. While black is usually a flattering shade on the star, the neckline of her ankle-length dress and the platform sandals (plus the aforementioned shoulder cutouts) ruin it. Getty Images
Kylie MinogueWear one single piece of yellow clothing and you’ll almost always end up looking like Big Bird. This should be a saying. If it was, Kylie Minogue probably wouldn't've chosen this dress with an unfortunately ruffled hem (we’ll call them feathers) and a cinched, asymmetrical neckline. Getty Images
Lake BellThe metallic dress that Lake Bell wore this week was all kinds of wrong. Firstly, what’s with the waistline? It throws off the proportions of her bod, and in turn, that makes the skirt look too short. Oh, but don’t worry, Lake added some lace to cover her legs...also unflattering.Getty Images
Minka KellyActress Minka Kelly channeled her inner Esmeralda at a lunch event in L.A. this week. While the off-the-shoulder trend is undeniably hot this season, it didn’t stand up when paired with a hippie maxi skirt. Let’s stick to just one boho item, Minka.Getty Images
Nicole ScherzingerSinger Nicole Scherzinger’s two piece and semi-top bun gave off serious samurai vibes. Not classic, ancient Japanese type samurai, but instead, some weird form of futuristic samurai in a lace-up tunic. This look was a fighting mess.Getty Images
Salma HayekNow, we certainly applaud celebrities who recycle their outfits, but Salma Hayek’s tiger print slip dress looks like it was pulled not out of the recycling, but out of the trash. Salma looks tired and disheveled, which isn’t like her. We hope you’re ok, Salma. Call us if you need to talk.Getty Images
Vivica A. FoxActress Vivica A. Fox, starring in this summer’s blockbuster Independence Day: Resurgence, looked a bit alien herself in this bedazzled, sheer gown. We know it’s scorching hot in La La Land right now, but couldn’t she at least have coordinated the lace fan to match her outfit? Yes, she could’ve, but she didn’t.Getty Images
