It looks as though things between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are OK. Actually, more than OK. Which is a lot better than what could’ve been. The exes, who were deemed “legally single” this past April, appear to have come up with a compromise, for now, in regards to their six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox, and it’s as close to amicable as we could’ve hoped for these two. In fact, summertime may be the right time for the Jolie-Pitts as the kids will be spending their break with both parents.

“The kids will be back and forth to Los Angeles to see Brad,” a source told Us Weekly. “Brad will also be spending time in New Mexico this summer because at times it will just be easier for him to go there.”

Jolie is currently in N.M. filming Those Who Wish Me Dead and the six kids are there with her. Another insider said, “Angelina has been trying to spend as much time with her children as possible while working grueling 12-hour days on set in Albuquerque. [She] dotes on the younger ones a lot.” But considering how swamped the actress’ workload can get, it has to be nice that Brad is available to pick up the slack and travel over there to alleviate that stress.

The original source added: “It’s a very healthy situation and Brad is grateful that all of the animosity is in the past.”

Well, that’s all a couple of exes with children can ask for: a healthy, co-parental relationship. The family has been through a lot since Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016. And while Angie had checked off “irreconcilable differences” in the legal documents, there appeared to be more to it as Jolie didn’t want to share joint physical custody with Pitt — only joint legal custody. Which was a big deal.

The well-being of the children became a major point of contention, especially when it was uncovered that an incident on a private plane involving Maddox was a factor in the couple’s split. Pitt was downgraded to supervised visits with the kids, was investigated and eventually cleared of any and all abuse allegations against their eldest son.

Jolie and Pitt still have to deal with each other as they continue to sort out their assets and the issue of custody, but it’s amazing what a little time can do. It appears as though they’ve made peace, or some semblance of it, and what was once a sad situation is looking a little more hopeful.
