We finally have some Game of Thrones character news that involves a heroic return instead of a gruesome death! (No, sorry, not Jon Snow.) It has been confirmed that Bran Stark will be returning to GoT next season, and apparently he’s bringing “the force.”
Actor Isaac Hempstead Wright confirmed that he will be back for Game of Thrones season six and that things are “going to get particularly interesting with Bran.” Interesting in this case means Jedi-like.
GoT showrunner David Benioff recently likened Bran’s absence from season five to Luke Skywalker’s Jedi training in Star Wars. But instead of learning Jedi skills, Bran has developed his warg skills with the Three-Eyed Raven.
“It would be far less interesting, after The Empire Strikes Back to have an hour-long movie in between Empire and Return of the Jedi where Luke is training,” explains Benioff. “It’s so much cooler to cut from end of Empire to beginning of Return, where he’s become the Jedi.”
No matter what force Bran brings to GoT next season, we are happy to have another Stark back!
