Lego is pretty much a staple in any household with kids, and it has been for decades. We’ve stepped on it, built houses out of it and marvelled at other people’s creations with it. Heck, we’ve even visited some of the awesome Lego stores in order to stock up on it.
Yet we’ve never thought to transform random surfaces in order to make them Lego friendly. Until now that it.
That’s because now there’s a brilliant new crowdfunding campaign going on to secure financing for a product that will take the building blocks to a whole new level. LEGO Compatible Adhesive Tape from Nimuno Loops is an adhesive strip with Lego-locking bumps that sticks to surfaces like walls, tables or even human skin, instantly upping your Lego game.
Think sideways skyscrapers, upside down cars, Lego signs or whatever else your creative mind can come up with. Suddenly anything’s possible, thanks to this tape, which also happens to come in a roll that you can cut and customize to your perfect Lego specifications. Did we mention that it bends, too?
We’re going to need at least three in each colour.
To be honest, we’re surprised that Lego doesn’t already have such a product. They may come out with one now though, given how many people have already thrown money at this thing. As of Wednesday morning the campaign has raised more than half a million dollars; that’s well above the original goal of $8,000.
That’s what happens when you take a beloved product and give it a genius twist. Now excuse us while we go snatch some up.
