Damn right, Springsteen advocates for LGBTQ rights
Bruce Springsteen has always been political. He’s always fighting for the underdog, for those who need their voices to be heard. So it shouldn’t be surprising that Bruce is boycotting the state of North Carolina after the government passed what is possibly the most contentious anti-LGBTQ law in modern American history.
In case you didn’t know, Georgia and N.C. were pursuing laws which, at their core, essentially discriminate against the LGBTQ community. The bill ended up being vetoed in Georgia when corporations (biggies like Marvel and Disney) vowed to pull their business and find a new home to film. Corporations like Apple, Microsoft and the NBA are now making those same threats to N.C. And even though the bill has yet to be passed, Springsteen and the E Street Band don’t even like the idea of it so they cancelled their show in Greensboro on Sunday, becoming the first major artist to do so.
That last paragraph is enough to move anyone to tears. “Some things are more important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry — which is happening as I write — is one of them. It is the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards.” Because it’s stunning how some states want to go back in time. Well done, Bruce, for continuing to do what you do. We hope others will follow in your inspiring footsteps, and those backwards parts of the world become the minority.
Jim Carrey leaves waitress a monster tip
Carrey showed his generous side while dining in the Meatpacking District of NYC. Page Six reports the actor and his friends were at Chester and he left $225 on a $151 bill. In case you were wondering, Jim ate lemon chicken and quinoa, with some wine and sparkling water.
“Everyone seemed to be in a good mood,” the source noted. Particularly the waitress. Nice to know Jim’s hilarious and generous.
Selena’s new song is probably about Justin
Wow, these two are really capitalizing on their old (and hopefully soon-to-be-rekindled) relationship, aren’t they? For Bieber, Purpose has been a revelation, an album that many people don’t want to admit they like, but do, and Justin admitted that Selena inspired some of the songs. As for Gomez, she teased “new new new music” and the lyrics are pretty Bieberific.
In the Snapchat video, Selena looks straight at the camera and sings along to her new song, “Do you stay up late/ just so you don’t dream?” Totally to Justin, right?
Irina Shayk finally let us know Bradley Cooper really is her boyfriend
B-Coop and Irina have been dating for more than a year, and while we’ve seen them on the red carpet together many times, Shayk has never posted a photo of her boyfriend on Instagram. Until now. Sort of.
Irina made things official — because nothing’s official until it’s posted on social media — when she shared a pic of her and Bradley cuddling in a pool. Of course, their heads were cut off but despite her crazy swimsuit, we’d know his bod anywhere. That’s so Cooper’s shoulder, facial scruff and long hair.
Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba all went to a wedding
Celebrity stylist Jamie Schneider got married on Saturday and and it was a star-studded celebration, to say the least.
Katy Perry was there (without Orlando Bloom), as was Kate Hudson and her brother, Oliver Hudson. Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba brought their husbands — Joel Madden and Cash Warren, respectively — and they all Snapchatted and Instagrammed the night away.

Congratulations to the happy couple and their equally happy friends, who might give Taylor Swift‘s squad a run for their money.
