Bey and Bru battled it out while Coldplay sang
It was kind of surprising that Coldplay was chosen for the Super Bowl Halftime Show but when it was announced that Beyoncé and Bruno Mars were going to take part, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
After Coldplay kicked things off, Mark Ronson showed up to scratch his ways into our hearts as the beginning of a revamped “Uptown Funk” got underway. Bruno and his band, The Hooligans (they deserve a mention), were their amazing selves, keeping it simple but still super-energized and infectious. But even as he delivered yet another stellar performance, everyone was holding their breath for Bey’s arrival. And she didn’t disappoint. Obviously. Because this is Queen B we’re talking about. She could’ve performed any number of recent or past hits, but instead opted for the powerful “Formation,” the single she dropped a mere day before. A DAY BEFORE.
She stomped her way around the grass of Levi’s Stadium, then joined Bruno on the centre stage as they funked up “Uptown Funk” a little more. Then Chris Martin and Coldplay rejoined them and they saluted past performers and, well, B&B kind of saved that from being a total snoozefest.
You know what else was great? Martin’s ex-wife and Beyoncé’s BFF, Gwyneth Paltrow, was at the game, and she may have been in charge of watching Bey’s daughter because Goop Instagrammed this:

This was on Bey’s Instagram so maybe Gwynnie and Jay hung out with the kids?
Also, props should be given to Lady Gaga, who showed off her vocals during the National Anthem, proving that she’s got the chops to win an Oscar this year. 2016 is looking to be Gaga’s comeback year, and well-deserved at that. But back to Beyoncé.
Right after the Halftime Show wrapped up, the screen lit up with images of the singer and the words every Beyoncé fan has been waiting for:
Um, yes, please.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt stripped down to his underwear in front of Harvard students
After Harvard named JGL the Hasty Pudding Theatricals’ 50th Man of the Year, he responded to the roast accordingly — by stripping to his undies (in an homage to his pal and oft-co-star Seth Rogen).
“I spent the last two days here,” Joseph told the audience. “There’s a thoughtfulness, optimism, passion, worldliness, sense of humour that leaves me feeling optimistic about people younger than I am. You guys are really doing great.” As is Gordon-Levitt. Good choice, Harvard, and well done, Joe.
Iman breaks social media silence after Bowie’s death
It’s been nearly a month since David Bowie‘s death and his wife, Iman, resurfaced on Instagram.
The posts come just days after Iman was photographed walking the couple’s dog in New York. It was the first public sighting of her since Bowie’s death. Welcome back, Iman.
Bobby Cannavale revealed that he’s a daddy now
The Vinyl star may have let it slip that he and girlfriend Rose Byrne are officially parents. The couple never really announced that they were expecting so it makes sense that they wouldn’t make an announcement that a baby was actually born. But Rocco Cannavale was.
Cannavale appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert while promoting his upcoming HBO show that he and Rose welcomed “beautiful” Rocco on Monday and he is “doing well.” Congrats to the gorgeous couple!
Angelina Jolie is a bad-ass, got three new tattoos
You know how once you get a tattoo, you can’t help but want more and more? Jolie is totally one of those people, because she reportedly got three new ones. Three big ones.
Ange is in Cambodia filming her latest movie, First They Killed My Father, and the Daily Mail got some shots of her latest ink. They represent Buddhist blessings for peace, love and a prosperous life and cover most of Jolie’s upper back. We’re not sure why but this just makes her all the more awesome.
