It’s no secret that dating apps have made it very easy to meet people—meaning we no longer have to wait for a John Hughes movie moment to exchange phone numbers. We can now debate over our favorite albums or movies through dating apps instead, which is a *less cute* but more efficient way of getting to know someone.
But what happens after you’ve exchanged your favorite episodes of The Office and established a digital connection with your “match”? It’s time to plan a meetup and any experienced dating app user will know that the most dreaded question is, “Where do you want to go?” It launches a game of back and forth dialogue and you just to end up choosing the most convenient coffee shop.
One dating app company, however, has come up with a solution for the perfect date place. Bumble, the app that gives women the power to make the first digital move, is opening a new first date bar — a coffee shop by day and a wine and small plates bar by night. Bumble Brew is set to open this fall in NYC. (If Carrie Bradshaw has taught us anything, it’s that the loneliest hearts live in The Big Apple — and may be the reason why 40 per cent of Bumble users reside in New York.)
According to Bloomberg, the company hopes to create a comfortable and safe first-date environment. The menu will include “date friendly,” so there won’t be any chicken wings, saucy burgers or spaghetti to slurp up in front of your date! Prices for small plates will range from $12 to $15 and wine will range from $12 to $16 by the glass.
