The Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker Bowles took a trip to the Malmesbury Residents Association in East London on Wednesday, wearing a smart green suit. To complement her ensemble, Camilla wore leather gloves and carried a forest green handbag. If the bag looks suspiciously familiar, it’s probably because you’ve seen it on another Duchess before. That’s right folks, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle herself, wore the very same DeMellier Mini Venice bag on a visit to Cardiff.
The design (which comes in 15 colours, in case you’re interested), is pretty affordable, royally speaking. At £295 ($512 CAD), the leather bag is handcrafted by artisans in Spain. Not only is it a good looking purse, it supports a great cause too. With each bag purchase, DeMellier funds vaccines for a child in need in collaboration with the charity SOS Children’s Villages.
We just have one question. Could the Duchesses be swapping bags? Did Meghan see Camilla that morning and say, “Hey, I’ve got just the thing to go with that dress,” and pull the bag out from the closet? Did Camilla catch those paparazzi photos of Meghan looking cute in Cardiff and ask if she could borrow it sometime?
We’d wager that no, that probably wasn’t the case. Both ladies likely own their respective Mini Venice bags. Nonetheless, looks like Camilla isn’t immune to the “Meghan Effect” and we’re kind of into it. Can #DuchessTwinning be a thing now?
