We’ve met the hosts, we’ve been formally introduced to the competitors, now we finally get our first look at what we can expect from Canada’s Drag Race when it premieres on Crave on July 2nd. Honey, this show is looking true north strong and FIERCE.The teaser trailer for the show is upon us, and although RuPaul won’t be a judge on the Canadian iteration of the wildly popular drag competition show, Mama Ru narrates the trailer for us, treating us to epic one-liners like, “Who will  be crowned Queen of the North? Woo child, we’re about to find oooooot!”
Set against the backdrop of a massive red maple leaf (because of course), Canada’s Drag Race looks like it’s going to be a raucous and colourful romp, full of celebrities (the show is fronted by three judges; supermodel Stacey McKenzie, actor Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Drag Race runner-up Brooke Lynn Hytes along with "Squirrel Friend," etalk's own Traci Melchor), fierce and focused competitors (did we just see one drag queen swallow a flaming sword?!), and a full spectrum of emotions. Gasps! Tears! Pure awe and admiration! And the most elaborate, ornate, sumptuous and sexy runway costumes we’ve ever seen. Watch this trailer at least three times to get the full effect. Girl, the talent here deserves attention. The trailer also finally introduces us to a whole host of Canadian celebrity guest judges, including music legend Deborah Cox, singer-songwriter Allie X, fashion designer BIDDELL, actresses Amanda Brugel and Elisha Cuthbert, notorious comedian Tom Green, famed RuPaul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, actor Jade Hassouné, and This Hour Has 22 Minutes legend Mary Walsh.Oh but that’s not all. Did we hear you crying for more fab cameos? Mama Ru delivers, with lifestyle gurus Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan, famed choreographer Hollywood Jade, photographer Matt Barnes, infamous RuPaul's Drag Race UK contestant Crystal, drag queen Michelle DuBarry, actor Stefan Brogren (of Degrassi fame), and Toronto’s own comedian Sabrina Jalees. How are they going to fit all of these people into just 10 episodes? We cannot wait for the series to premiere on Crave July 2nd to find out.[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: These three queens tell all about getting *that* call from RuPaul[/video_embed]
