Black Friday comes and goes so quickly, but it’s a lot like Boxing Day–some deals can last forever (at least a month, sometimes). But for everyone purchasing on a schedule, there’s Cyber Monday to look forward to. With the impending cold weather comes fierce, howling winds and more snow than you can keep up with, so let’s talk vacations. Although Cyber Monday is very much an American phenomenon, there are some great deals for Canadians–you just need to look around. Thankfully, we took care of that for you. Hotels, airlines and resorts are really upping the ante this year, and there are a bunch of beautifully discounted options for just getting the heck out of Canada because, well, you just need to get out of here sometimes.
Let’s get this straight: you get a four-night stay at the Hilton Sedona Resort and Spa (seen above) and buffets for two people and it’s only $650 (that’s with tax)? What’s the catch? Apart from some blackout days, there doesn’t appear to be one. This sale is launching on Cyber Monday and will end on December 2, so it’s an act now or miss out kind of situation.
Cooperstown, New York
The Cooper Inn has an exclusive Cyber Monday deal that’s kind of great if you’re into baseball and historical towns. On Monday, booking rates will be slashed 30 per cent for stays between January and March 2015. Aim for March to escape the February freeze and take advantage of the sights, like the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
The Peninsula Hotel, New York
It calls itself “Fifth Avenue’s most glamorous address” and now you can stay for less. For Cyber Monday, the hotel is offering 30 per cent off rooms and suites and luxury facials. Just use the code NYCYBER at checkout. Subject to availability, of course.
Kimpton Hotels, Florida
You’re looking for warmth, so why not head to Florida? Epic Miami, Surfcomber and The Angler’s in South Beach and Vero Beach Hotel and Spa are all offering 20 per cent room reductions from now until March 1st.
Hotel El Convento, Puerto Rico
It’s not every day that you can get 25 per cent off this hotel. In fact, Cyber Monday is the only day to get this rate on the 360-year-old converted convent. The catch? You can only get the deal for bookings from January 6th to 9th and January 11th to 14th. (This means it will go fast, so be ready with a coffee and your mouse-clicking fingers.)
The Canadian Rockies
Okay, so you want to stay in Canada. That’s fine, no judgments here. There’s a great golfing package available that might just be what you’re looking for–it includes a 4-night stay in Canmore, 2 rounds of golf and a 25-minute Royal Canadian Helicopter Tour (check out that view!). It’s usually $909, but it could be yours for just $779.
Friendly Planet is having its biggest sale of the year for one-day-only, and it’s offering deep discounts on all of its travel packages. You will get between $100-$500 off all new bookings, and that’s on top of any early booking discounts!
Want 55 to 65 per cent off resort stays in Barbados, St. Maarten and St. Croix? Who wouldn’t? Divi is having a huge Cyber Monday sale that offers just that, but if you book air and hotel accommodations together, you’ll save even more. If you’re looking for warmth, this is a really good deal. If you’re not looking for warmth, then, well, we have other deals that might interest you.
You know when someone says “we’re off to Vail for a ski trip” and you just think, “wow, they must be rich?” Well, you can be the person planning that trip, because for Cyber Monday, resorts in Vail (like the Arabelle Rock Resort seen above) are priced to sell, with bookings discounted up to 40 per cent.
Paradise Atlantis, Barbados
Let’s see, kids eat free and you can save 60 per cent off for resort stays? Huh. Sounds like a no-brainer family getaway, right? Yes, we’re right.
WestJet has 30,000 seats on sale, ranging from Halifax to Las Vegas to Montego Bay, and they’ll only be around until Cyber Monday! A quick scan of the offerings reveals a one-way ticket to Miami for just $190 and Bermuda for $153.
