The original Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill, might have some explaining to do. Like, explaining his relationship to Captain America: Civil War star Sebastian Stan.

First, let us present to you Hamill and Stan’s faces Photoshopped together by Instagram user @morphy_me. (This person has a serious knack for this, BTW.)

“What in the heck is going on!?” you might say.

Well, things are about to get even weirder. You might think the face on the left is Hamill and the one on the right is Stan in the image below, but you would be wrong. It’s the same Photoshopped hybrid face in both photos. Mind. Blown.

The Star Wars star’s haircut and costume certainly helps to trick our mind into thinking they look like the same human being. But it just goes to show how certain attributes, like hair style and colour, play an important part in overall facial recognition.

And let’s not forget about the artist who is behind the mind blowing photos. Instagram user @morphy_me has some serious editing skills—his/her entire account is built on images of celebrities that have been meticulously morphed together. There’s an Angelina JolieMegan Fox hybrid (so much beauty!), a Christina AguileraBritney Spears hybrid (finally, we’ve always wondered!), and a Ben StillerTom Cruise mashup (slightly unsettling).

But it’s the Luke Skywalker-Bucky Buchanan love child that we can’t get enough of. It is by far the artist’s most impressive work.

Just to ease your mind, here’s a photo of both men as their actual selves:

Frankly, this all makes our brain hurt. Is this some kind of transgression within a parallel universe? Did Hamill give birth to a son without knowing? Why do Hamill and Stan look pretty much like the same human being despite being 30 years apart in age? We have so many questions.

And, we’re not the only ones eating it up. Luke Skywalker himself sent a tweet poking fun at the eerie resemblance, and artist @morphy_me totally loved it:

OMG I’m so happy that Mark saw my edit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😱😱🎉🎉 This man is so cool !! Thanks to @rdjthirst for showing me that 😉

Darth Vader might be surprised to learn that he actually has another son. Let’s hope he doesn’t try and sway Stan over to the Dark Side.
