For those folks who’ve always longed for a bigger booty, it sounds like a hardcore fitness regime that’s full of squats and deadlifts is still the safest and least painful way to grow more junk in the trunk. You could try butt injections, but as rapper Cardi B recently revealed, finding a professional to administer the filler is probably best.

In an interview with GQ, the stripper-turned-Billboard-topping-rapper from the Bronx got real about her medically-enhanced silhouette.

“When I was 21, I did not have enough meat on my body—if I was to get lipo, I wouldn’t have fat for my ass,” she explained in the magazine.

About four years ago, after she’d been a stripping for a few years already, Cardi made the decision to get a fuller figure a la injections. A choice, she explains, that was made partly because of an unfaithful ex who had cheated on her with a woman who “had a fat, big ass” and also because she noticed her colleagues with larger butts were making more money.

So, inside of a basement apartment in Queens, New York the now 25-year-old let some woman – -running a very illegal business — inject her behind with filler for $800.

“They don’t numb your ass with anything,” Cardi told the magazine. “It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy. And it leaks for, like, five days.”

Just reading Cardi’s recollection — the pain, the dizziness, THE LEAKING — of having illicit injections is enough to make anyone feel queasy. And discomforts aside, going somewhere that isn’t board-certified — be it medical or cosmetic — for a procedure is a huge risk. People die from being improperly injected.

Luckily, the rapper’s experience was just managing short-term pain and not, you know, death. Cardi said she was happy with the fuller results and wanted to go back to the same woman for a touch-up.

“But by the time I was gonna go get it, the lady got locked up ‘cause she’s supposedly killed somebody,” she said.

Uh, yeah, like we said, death can occur when injections are administered by anyone but a trained medical professional (and even then, there’s still a risk).

So while Cardi’s hourglass figure is enviable, holding yourself accountable to a fitness regime that’ll strengthen and build butt muscle over time is probably the safer route. Plus, it’ll be a whole lot cheaper and better for your health in the long run.
