Fans of the Nashville Predators who attended their playoff game against the Chicago Blackhawks last night were treated to more than just a thrilling overtime win. Before the on-ice action even started, a surprise guest came out to sing the national anthem. Chances are you’ll recognize this powerhouse of a voice.

Wow. Some singers shy away from that “rockets red glare” high note, but not the former American Idol winner and current country music superstar Carrie Underwood. She raised the hairs of everyone in attendance, including her husband and Predators Captain Mike Fisher, with that amazing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Her voice simply does not get old. Ever.
Fisher, you are one lucky man. Your wife is as talented (seven-time Grammy winner talented) as she is stunning. Though, frankly, Fisher is also a pretty handsome fellah — they make a good pair, don’t they?
Underwood has been a longtime Predators fan, so it was no surprise to see her out supporting her team. She’s got some great “Smashville” gear.
And here she is celebrating like mad when her team won the game in overtime. The Predators went up 3-0 in the series last night and are one win away from sweeping the Blackhawks and moving on to the next round.
That looks like some serious fun.
Sure, there are a handful of Canadian teams to root for in this year’s Stanley Cup run, but it’s hard not to get behind Nashville when Underwood is making it look like such a riot. Sorry Leafs, but Go Predators Go!
