Most people couldn’t bear the thought of an animal breaking into their home.

For Idaho man Doug Harder though, it’s practically a regular occurrence. Last week, he got the surprise of his life after he saw a bear sticking its head through the cat door of his condo, in an apparent attempt to sneak in for some munchies.

“I see the bear, you know, just keep trying to get through the door,” Harder says in the video above. “Just bobbing its head in and out.”

While such a sight would send most normal people scrambling for cover, it sent Harder scrambling for a camera. He says he was never scared because the cat door was way too tiny for the furry giant to get in, but he’s also become accustomed to these kinds of close encounters.

The first time bears visited his home was back in May, when a whole family showed up and vegged out on his back porch. Harder also has images of bears standing on their hind legs trying to pry open his sliding glass doors.

“You know it’s very common, I live up on a mountain and so this is the wilderness,” he said.

While he was on a recent vacation, however, a bear was actually able to enter the home. Once inside, the animal guzzled a 12-pack of Pepsi, chowed down on some Toblerone bars, clawed up his walls and then left a fresh, heaping pile of poop in his living room floor on the way out.

Something tells us that cat shouldn’t be allowed outside anymore. Check out the video above.
