If you’ve ever wanted to break the law and look super cute while doing it, you can look to the South Koreans for inspiration.

They’re going underground to illegal tattoo parlours to get tattoos of their…cats!

But wait, it gets weirder. Here’s why the ink-lovers are forced to break the law: It’s almost impossible to legally get a tattoo in South Korea because, get this, only doctors are allowed to give them. It’s considered a “medical procedure,” you guys. And, as you might have guessed, not many people go into the medical profession to dole out unicorn and “I love Mom” tattoos.

So in protest of this great injustice, Koreans who fall into the “I love cats just as much as I love illegal tattoos” category are getting their favourite pets tattooed on their bodies. One tattoo parlour has even taken to sharing photos of these great acts of defiance on Instagram. Take a look at the pure adorableness of it all:

South Koreans, honouring their four-legged cats and breaking the law, one cat tattoo at a time.
