We only have a few days left in the year (and decade), but one more celebrity breakup is arriving just in time to close out 2019. Actor Channing Tatum and English singer Jessie J have reportedly called it quits after a year of dating and a source close to the couple is reporting that the pair are parting ways on friendly terms.Speaking to People Magazine, the source said “There wasn’t any drama. They just decided to part ways and are still good friends.” Priorities and location played a factor in the pair’s decision to end their relationship, with the source adding “Channing and Jessie have different priorities and focuses that don’t really align. They had a fun relationship, but it just didn’t work out. Channing needs to be in LA a lot so he can spend time with Everly. Jessie prefers England. They are still friendly though.”Channing and Jessie were first rumoured to be dating in October 2018 when they were first spotted together at a mini-golf. The new relationship came a few months after Tatum announced his separation from wife Jenna Dewan, with whom he shares his six-year-old daughter Everly. Dewan released her autobiography Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day in October and said she was blindsided by her ex-husband’s new relationship, revealing that she learned about it on the internet along with the rest of the world. Dewan is currently expecting a child with her actor boyfriend Steve Kazee.Jessie (31) and Channing (38) have been relatively private about their relationship, although the pair did enjoy a few PDA moments. The British singer serenaded Tatum at her concert at LA’s Troubadour Club in September, where she debuted a new love song rumoured to be inspired by Tatum. The couple also had fun posting about one another on social media, whether it was touching birthday messages or a game of Jenga that ended in a win for Jessie and a win for all Channing Tatum fans. We’re going to miss this relationship.
Speaking with the UK newspaper The Times in June, the “Bang Bang” singer revealed that photographs of the pair appearing online before they had officially become a couple put an unnecessary amount of pressure on the new relationship. "We've needed time to get to know each other," Jessie, real name Jessica Cornish, told The Times. "We've just had our first holiday together, which was wonderful, but that's all I'm saying."In August, both Channing and Jessie J announced their breaks from social media in order to have more time to focus on their creative endeavors. In 2018, Jessie J released her fourth studio album R.O.S.E. and her first holiday album, This Christmas Day. Having previously appeared on The Voice Australia and The Voice UK, Jessie J is currently a coach on The Voice Kids UK. As for Tatum, the actor hasn’t appeared on screen since 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle but has lent his voice to the animated films Smallfoot and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.
