Charlie Hunnam is the latest actor to pose alongside his own biceps on the cover of Men’s Health Magazine. The Sons of Anarchy star is opening up about what he does to stay in shape and it’s not limited to hitting the gym. Let’s talk about sex, baby.

Hunnam listed off the many activities he partakes in to stay active, including running, swimming, hiking and jiu-jitsu, adding that he also likes to keep his fitness up in the bedroom. “I also try to make love as often as I can,” said Hunnam. “That’s an important part of fitness.”

Um, it’s working.

The actor has been dating artist Morgana McNelis for 12 years and apparently she’s the greatest fitness trainer in the world.

Hunnam and his impressive muscles are set to star in the upcoming films The Lost City of Z and as Arthur Pendragon in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. We’re think he’ll be able to get that sword out of the rock.

While we’ll pretty much believe anything Hunnam says as long as we get to stare at him while he’s saying it, there’s definitely some truth to his sex workout claims. According to Fitness Magazine, sex can in fact be a great workout for your core, your arms, and your pelvic muscles, depending on how ‘enthusiastic’ you are about your performance. Thirty minutes of sex can even burn up to 238 calories, depending on the position. Take that, stair climber.

For completely scientific purposes, let’s take a look a Hunnam’s ‘body of work’ to confirm the theory that sex is a great workout.
