Ugh. Just when we all thought we were safe from the tales of the life that has been Charlie Sheen‘s, there’s yet another bombshell — this time in the form of accusations that Sheen hasn’t just been involved in domestic abuse, but that he also supposedly raped a 13-year-old boy.
Deceased, Canadian former child star Corey Haim, to be exact. You know, the archetype of everything that can be wrong with Hollywood and its treatment of minors in L.A.
This new level of awfulness came to our awareness on Wednesday when actor Dominick Brascia told a publication that Sheen had raped Haim while they were filming the 1986 flick Lucas. The actor told The National Enquirer that Haim revealed, “they smoked pot and had sex. He said they had anal sex,” he clarified. “Haim said after it happened Sheen became very cold and rejected him. When Corey wanted to fool around again, Charlie was not interested.”
Keep in mind this was a 13-year-old kid, and not someone of sound mind to make such requests. Sheen was 19 at the time.
However, Sheen’s camp has firmly denied any involvement in such an act. A rep for the former Two and a Half Men and Anger Management star issued a statement saying that Sheen “categorically denies these allegations.”
Given that Haim is no longer with us (he died in 2010 from pneumonia), this is another one of those “he said, he said” cases. However, with all of the allegations flying back and forth around Hollywood these days, and given Sheen’s history, the story definitely does not paint him in a great light.
What we do know is that the Enquirer reported that “dozens” of other unnamed sources backed up Brascia’s story, but so far those people haven’t come forward. It’s also worth noting that Haim’s childhood bestie, Corey Feldman, wrote about Haim being sexually assaulted while on the set of Lucas in his memoir, Coreyography, but he too refused to name anyone.
According to that book, Feldman recalled Haim telling him about the older actor, saying that, “it was perfectly normal for older men and younger boys in the business to have sexual relations, that it was ‘what all guys do.’”
Brascia went on to tell the Enquirer that when both parties were a bit older, Sheen and Haim had sex again, but Haim “didn’t like it” and said he was over the older actor for good.
“There are people that did this to me and Corey that are still working, they’re still out there, and they’re some of the most rich and powerful people in this business,” Feldman told The View back when he was first promoting his book. “And they do not want what I’m saying right now. They want me dead.”
Well, the Hollywood tales just keep getting lovelier and lovelier, don’t they? Excuse us while we go and look at pictures of puppies or something.
