Warning: you’re about to get really excited over these new Lay’s chips.
These aren’t just regular plain Jane potato chips–they’re bacon poutine flavoured. And Thai sweet chili flavoured. If that’s not enough to get you salivating, there’s even cheese and onion flavoured chips. That’s right, the mix of finger-licking cheese and onion is finally real.
Let’s take a moment to break down each new flavour, and get to the bottom of why they’re bound to make your tastebuds dance:
- Bacon poutine: How could you not love a chip that epitomizes Canada? We so badly want to enjoy a blend of cheese curds, gravy and bacon–all the flavours that remind us of home. But has Lay’s ever really tried a poutine? We’ll leave that for you to decide. (Inspired by poutines all over Canada.)
- Thai sweet chili: It doesn’t take intense research to find out that sweetness and spiciness are one heck of a power duo. These chips use that wonderful sweet and spicy combo to their advantage, and are perfect for anyone who likes their snacks to have a bit of a bite. (Inspired by an iconic dipping sauce in Thailand.)
- Cheese and onion: No longer do you need to spend time choosing between cheese or sour cream and onion. Because these chips are a drool-worthy blend of both. Plus, this one’s our favourite. (Inspired by the ingredients used in British cooking.)
These new chips were chosen out of 12 potential flavours after Canadians voted for the best ones, and are only available while supplies last. So you better get your butt over to the grocery store quick. It costs $3.49 to get ahold of a 170 gram bag of chips and $1.49 for a 66 gram bag of chips, which means it’ll hardly hurt your wallet.
