It’s called IMG Worlds of Adventure and it’s just another reason to visit Dubai, the most entertaining city in the Middle East. The newly opened indoor theme park is the largest in the world, shattering the former Guinness World Record, and features rides and attractions inspired by the Marvel Universe, Cartoon Network and more.

Think: a Spiderman ride that swings you along through the (fake) building tops of downtown NYC; a Power Puff scrambler that flips you around and upside down as well as a dinosaur themed roller coaster with a massive vertical drop. You know, theme park stuff. Another of the crowd favs is the velociraptor roller coaster, which whips riders around the indoor track before shuttling them out into the desert for a little sand and sun.

Measuring in at 140,000-square-metres, the park expects to host up to 30,000 people on peak days. Given that there are just 22 rides, 25 retail outlets and 28 food outlets, we’re imagining that a major part of this amusement park—like other theme parks—will be waiting in line. The park will contribute to Dubai’s goal of hosting 20 million tourists per year by the time the World Expo lands in the city for 2020.

The cost to put together the world’s largest indoor theme park was a cool $1 billion—but hey, no biggie, it’s Dubai. They already claim the world’s tallest building, the largest malls and the biggest man-made islands as their own—consider this just another line on Dubai’s tourism resume. Oh yeah, we’re totally going there.
