Christina Aguilera dropped her new single "Haunted House" from The Addams Family movie soundtrack on Friday and it has all the high notes and dark sex appeal we could want from an X-tina track with some of the fun family-friendliness of an animated film.Just in time for Halloween month, Aguilera has debuted the slinky new single ahead of the film’s release on October 11 and her perfect pitch are already getting us excited as the Grammy winner sings, "My heart is a haunted house / Once you’re in, you ain’t getting out / It’s the trap you’ve been waiting for/Ain’t no windows, ain’t no doors / No escaping the way you feel / It’s like a dream, but you hope it’s real." Spooky. Usually when we think of haunted houses and relationships, we think of them ending (someone always takes the scares a bit too far), but in Aguilera’s case, it's somehow romantic. The lyric video for "Haunted House" was also released and includes clips of Aguilera wearing all black (of course) while performing in a vocal booth. Scenes from the upcoming animated film are spliced throughout and act as a sneak peek to the film. We see Morticia preparing for her own wedding while also dealing with every gothic parent’s worst nightmare–their daughter wearing a pink barrette.
In addition to Christina's single, the soundtrack also includes "My Family" featuring Migos, Snoop Dogg and Karol G. The 3-D animated film has an all-star cast that includes Oscar Isaac as Gomez Addams, Charlize Theron as Morticia Addams, Chloë Grace Moretz and Finn Wolfhard as the Addams children Wednesday and Pugsley, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Snoop Dogg as Cousin Itt, and Bette Middler as Grandmama. Allison Janney, Elsie Fisher, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, and Titus Burgess also star. The Addams Family is the latest film soundtrack that Aguilera has lent her iconic vocals to. The singer has previously released new music for The Get Down and Burlesque, in which she appeared opposite Cher.Aguilera is currently performing at her Las Vegas residency "Christina Aguilera: The Xperience," which debuted in May at Planet Hollywood. The residency was expected to wrap up in October, but Aguilera recently announced new dates through to March 2020. Aguilera is taking a quick break from Vegas for The X Tour, which has shows in the U.K. and Mexico in November and December.
