You’re Canadian, so you probably feel like you’re doing okay. You’ve got free healthcare, you have access to so much of the great outdoors and you get a lot of delicious food that other people can’t get. So, you’ve got a lot to be thankful for, right? Well, you do, but according to a market research study conducted by GfK, there is something you aren’t necessarily satisfied with: the way you look.
More than 27,000 consumers, ages 15 and up, were surveyed from 22 countries to determine which countries have positive self-image. And Canada did not do so hot – only 11 per cent of respondents said they were completely satisfied (12 per cent was the world average) with how they looked, while 4 per cent of respondents said they were not satisfied at all (the world average here was 3 per cent). But it’s not all terrible news, since 48 per cent of Canadians admitted they were at least “fairly satisfied,” which was 5 per cent above the global average for the category.
Here’s the thing, though: Canada just barely made the top 10, so we have some work to do. But, don’t fret, because there’s a lot of inspiration out there right now to show you how it’s done. So, who beat us? Who just isn’t a fan of how they look? Let’s count ’em down.
