As rumours of a new project with the six cast members of Friends continue to heat up, even the smallest sign that something real could come to fruition is enough to send fans into a gleeful panic. Today’s glimmer of hope is care of Monica and Chandler, who we know can only keep a secret for a few weeks before telling everyone. On Thursday, Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry aka Monica Geller-Bing and Chandler Bing, had a sweet lunch date. Two people who worked together for 10 years spotted hanging out together usually wouldn’t be major news, but most people didn’t appear on one of the most successful TV shows of all time. So, it’s time to freak out.Cox shared a picture of the Friends (capital ‘F’) and and posting the *most* Friends’-friendly caption. “Guess who I had lunch with today....I KNOW!!,” wrote Cox, who knows her millions of followers will read that line in her Monica voice. “Could I BE any happier?,” asked Cox, including the hashtag #realfriends.

No surprise, fans exhibited zero chill over the picture. In defence of the collective excitement, Cox and Perry’s co-stars also had zero chill. “Lucky lucky. #beautifulpeople,” wrote Lisa Kudrow, with Jennifer Aniston adding multiple heart emojis and the line “MATTY!! I LOVE YOU, GUYS.”Cox’s Cougar Town co-star Christa Miller jumped in on the lovefest, writing “Two of my favorite people.” Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet knows a good sitcom pairing when he sees one, adding “High quality content!” Oscar-winner Allison Janney, whom Perry starred opposite during his short stint on The West Wing, is also a Friends fan, writing “Love you Matthew.”Cox and Perry have previously reunited on the small screen, with Courteney appearing on Matthew’s short-lived dramedy Go On. But with Aniston’s recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and her confirmation that the Friends cast is possibly working on a project (not a reboot, but we’ll take anything), this week’s reunion snap is more exciting than a new episode of Baywatch.Aniston's reunion pic from last month earned a staggering 14 million likes, and counting, and served as unofficial confirmation that any project from the cast, even a video of the six actors watching paint dry, while be frontpage news.
