Craig Robinson to host 'The Masked Singer’ spinoff ‘The Masked Dancer'

If you're a fan of The Masked Singer (Wednesdays, 8pET on CTV), here's something to get excited about! The top-secret singing competition is getting a spinoff that swaps the focus from vocal talents to tip-tapping dance ability.Actor and comedian Craig Robinson will host The Masked Dancer and he'll be joined by panellists High School Musical alum Ashley Tisdale, singer and former American Idol judge Paula Abdul, Beverly Hills, 90210 actor Brian Austin Green and none other than the king of terrible Masked guesses himself, Ken Jeong.The new series will feature masked (of course) celebrities showing off their dancing skills while the judges and audience members attempt to guess who is under the costume.The dancing contestants also won't have to go out on stage alone and will be joined by masked partners and back-up dancers for a variety of different dance styles including salsa, jazz, tap, hip-hop and more.[video_embed id='2052719']RELATED: Ken Jeong reveals if there will be a 'Hangover 4'[/video_embed]The spinoff series, inspired by a joke segment on The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in 2019, will provide weekly clues to help the audience try to identify which famous face is behind the mask.Rob Wade, president of alternative entertainment and specials at Fox, said the Robinson is "hilarious as always in his role as host" and that the panellists are "the perfect blend of personalities to lead our awesomely weird world of masks into a whole new genre." Robinson is best known for his role as Daryl on The Office and his reoccurring role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Doug Judy.The Masked Dancer is set to premiere in December but the exact date is still to be determined.Masks are becoming the new fashion accessory, making this the perfect time for another Masked show.
