CTV was snuggling up “at home” from the couch on June 23, when it unrolled its virtual CTV Homefront fall programming presentation. There, the network announced that it's landed the anticipated new comedy
B Positive from sitcom mastermind Chuck Lorre (
The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Two and a Half Men, Bob Hearts Abishola), along with the new Leslie Jones-hosted version of
Supermarket Sweep.
B Positive stars Thomas Middleditch (
Silicon Valley) as a quirky therapist and newly divorced father who needs a new kidney. As it turns out, a rough-around-the-edges woman from his past—played by Annaleigh Ashford (
Masters of Sex)—is willing to give it to him, putting them both on the path to an unlikely friendship. Sara Rue (
American Housewife) and Kether Donahue (
You're the Worst) also star in the series, which was the only pilot to actually complete filming in Hollywood earlier this year before things were shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.[video_embed id='1953411']RELATED: 'Transplant' star Hamza Haq on how he traded his day job to become a leading man[/video_embed]That isn’t the only new series viewers can look forward to in the coming months, though. CTV also confirmed that the Kim Cattrall gothic family drama
Filthy Rich unrolls this fall, after being previously announced that it was expected to air in early 2020 and was held after the pandemic threw any hope of a traditional pilot season out the window. And with grocery stores being one of the few places that most have ventured to during the past three months, the upcoming remake of
Supermarket Sweep should feel even more relevant.Former
Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones previously
told Deadline that she once auditioned to be on the show herself and her at the helm feels all kinds of right.
Renewals, renewals, renewals
But while the network was busy grabbing new shows for bingeing come cooler temps, CTV was also heating things up with some key renewals. The powers-that-be also confirmed that hit refugee medical drama
Transplant, which was recently picked up by NBC in the U.S., will return for a second season. Meanwhile the Jann Arden-led comedy
Jann, which debuts its second season this fall, has already been renewed for a third.Things will be cooking in the kitchen too, with the official news that an all-star version of

The Amazing Race Canada. Meanwhile Bell Media also announced new seasons of
Corner Gas Animated and
Letterkenny, along with the official launches of incoming series
Holmes Family Effect (previously titled
Holmes Family Rescue), comedy series
Children Ruin Everything and new paranormal series
The Surrealtor. And those looking to find some of their favourite returning programs this fall, CTV confirmed some fan-favourite shows too, like
