Move over Property Brothers, because another hot Canadian is taking over People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue bragging rights. Dan Levy, who like Jonathan and Drew Scott was previously named among the publication’s list of sexiest dudes, is once again on this year’s list. However this time around he’s making his solo debut, having been named last year alongside his father, Eugene Levy.“This form of sexy is a niche market,” the Schitt’s Creek creator joked in an interview with the publication. To further drive home that self-deprecating jab, Levy put his own sexy spin on quarantine chores for the photo portion of the article, taking out a recycling bin full of booze bottles while donning a designer robe and tinted glasses.

Speaking of booze, the 37-year-old Emmy winner revealed that while he gave cooking a spin in lockdown, bartending is where he's truly found his calling. His banana bread never turned out quite right, his sourdough was heavy, and his Levain bakery chocolate chip cookies just weren’t the same so he started shaking up some classy cocktails instead like Negronis, Manhattans, and his personal favourite, the Cosmo.“It's my favourite cocktail. Sex and the City aside, it's a very refreshing beverage. But there's an alchemy to a Cosmopolitan that needs to be just right, otherwise it does not taste good,” he revealed. “So, I have continually been trying to perfect the Cosmopolitan on the rocks in a tumbler, not a martini glass.”In the interview Levy also opened up about some of the other quarantine activities that he tried and ditched. He revealed that earlier this year he pulled a Beyoncé and invested in a Peloton bike, but now the bike just sits there. “I haven’t done an ounce of physical activity since,” he admitted. He also said that he knows himself better than to invest time in a puzzle. “I am too short-tempered for a puzzle,” the actor added. “Why would I do a puzzle when I could put on a television show or read a book or watch a movie?”Levy explained that some of his go-to quarantine favourites have been trashy reality shows like Real Housewives of Atlanta or Below Deck Mediterranean. “We were really into sophisticated fare at first and now it’s people throwing drinks at each other on a yacht,” he joked. Levy also explained that after filming Schitt’s Creek and having an unreliable schedule for the past few years, it’s been nice to hunker down with his rescue dog, Redmond. “Now I work from home and we finally have gotten our groove back. It's no longer the absentee dad that's like, ‘See you in a few months.’ I've built back his trust. It's going well,” he added.[video_embed id='2074048']RELATED: Dan Levy, Kristen Stewart and more star in new trailer for holiday queer rom-com [/video_embed]It’s no wonder People chose Levy to grace this year’s list of sexiness. In addition to starring, writing and directing episodes of the multiple Emmy-award winning final season of Schitt’s Creek, the actor has been an active advocate for Indigenous rights in Canada. He also already has a slew of new projects lined up, like the recently released HBO quarantine film Coastal Elites (now streaming on Crave) alongside Issa Rae, Sarah Paulson and Bette Midler. Or the upcoming, stereotype-shattering Christmas flick Happiest Season alongside Kristen Stewart.“I do think that there has been a sense of community that's been established around this quarantine,” Levy added in the People interview. “Everyone going through a very similar situation in terms of having the same restrictions on themselves, I think it's forced us to communicate. It certainly opened up lines of communication for me. In times of crisis, all you have to do is be grateful for what you have. I'm very curious to see what happens in the next year.”People’s annual Sexiest Man Alive issue hits newsstands this week. And as for who the publication plans on crowning at the top of that list, replacing last year’s winner John Legend? That will be revealed on the November 17 edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live!.[video_embed id='2049925']BEFORE YOU GO: 'Horse girl' from Alberta can gallop and jump just like a horse [/video_embed]
