In the last week, enough stuff has come out in the wake of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s split that we know this isn’t going to be an amicable one. When kids, custody and two loving parents are involved, it’s going to get messy. Because if you were hoping for a modern family à la the Garner-Afflecks, prepare for your dreams to be dashed.

That being said, as far as Brad and Angelina’s (it’s sad that we can no longer refer to them as Brangelina) “stuff” goes, that’s going to be way more clear-cut. Both signed iron-clad prenuptial agreements prior to their marriage two years ago and as far as their properties and assets are concerned, splitting it all up should be easy-peasy, lemon squeezy.

Their combined fortune is a reported $400 million and the two share a dozen properties, all of which they bought either before they were married or before they even started dating, reports TMZ. Of the 12, seven belong to Brad, two to Angie and three were bought together — but before they tied the knot in 2014.

While it’s unclear who paid what, or if both names are on those three properties — a vineyard in France, a New Orleans mansion and a NYC apartment — their prenup will make the division of those assets simple.

Going through that kind of legal divvying-up before you embark on what you hope will be a lifetime together has to be uncomfortable, right? At the time, the Brange had it all figured out, which is good, now, we suppose. But that doesn’t mean things aren’t about to get crazy up in here.

Custody is when these two will go to war. As previously reported, Angelina wants physical custody of Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne, asking the judge to give Brad only visitation. But that’s not going to happen as far as Pitt’s concerned. Whether, like any parent, he just loves his kids, or he thinks Angie is an ‘unsafe mom,’ he plans to battle for joint physical custody of their six children.

You buckled up, everyone? This is just the beginning and things are about to get bumpy.
