Ah, a baby’s first photoshoot is always a special event. Whether little Johnny is sleeping peacefully or little Janey is screaming her colic-y head off, the memories from that day are priceless. But when photographer Megan Rion of Imagine That Photography recently snapped shots of one-month-old Connor in Louisiana’s Sam Houston Jones State Park, she knew there would be a chance that it would be even more special.
The woodsy setting and the autumn props of pumpkins and gourds and colourful leaves were made all the more perfect by little Connor fast asleep on a bale of hay. You can’t ask for anything more — except, you know, a deer peacefully sauntering over to join in on the action.
Maggie the deer, who is somewhat famous around the park, was rescued and hand-fed at birth. While the photographer didn’t think Maggie was going to show at this particular spot, everyone was happy when she made an appearance. Rion stayed close throughout the shoot, knowing something awesome was bound to happen.
“She showed up within 10 minutes of us being there,” Rion told The Loop. “She absolutely loves people.”
Maggie’s been at a number of Rion’s shoots prior to Connor’s:
These visits have led Rion to develop a bit of a theory: Maggie is getting a taste for the spotlight.
“I think she’s starting to be a little bit of a camera hog,” joked Rion. With a face like this, why wouldn’t she?
