Definitive proof that 2019 belongs to JLo and JLo only

From tours to movies to awards shows to the fashion scene, JLo has been EVERYWHERE this year. Does this woman recharge with pure adrenaline? Not only is she crushing it career-wise, she hit some major personal milestones as well—getting engaged and turning 50 within months of each other—all while maintaining a killer bod and finding time to go to her kids’ baseball games and talent shows. Does she have more hours in the day than we do?In case you’re having trouble keeping track, we’ve been keeping a running list of all the amazing things JLo has done this year. We got tired just writing the list, further proving we are not, and will never be, Jennifer Lopez.

She celebrated her 50th with a world tour

Thanks to celebs like Miss Lopez herself, 50 has become the new 25 and she really let us know with the 38-date “It’s My Party” world Tour. You WISH you were as extra as JLo. She hit cities across the United States and Canada, then hopped the pond to also play concerts in Russia, Turkey, Spain and Egypt. She just wanted to celebrate her 50^th year with all of us. We are deeply flattered.Her actual birthday was a total blowout on July 24, which started with a surprise Porsche convertible from A-Rod and the kids followed by an evening extravaganza at Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s Miami residence. The guest list was star-studded, the cake was ginormous and her outfit was fire. What more could a newly-minted 50-year-old want?

Hustlers, Hustlers, Hustlers

JLo also spent several months this year spitting in the faces of any misconceptions people might have about strippers by starring in a blockbuster movie all about them. OF COURSE she can play a smart, savvy 50-year-old exotic dancer who heads a millionaire-scamming girl crew while flaunting abs that look like they were chiseled from granite. A-Rod locked it down

A-Rod, like many of us, worships the ground JLo walks on a la Kris Jenner and he got down on one knee a month after the two celebrated their anniversary to lock down the incredible force of a woman. After the sweet beach proposal in March, the two got a little busy with tours, movies and more of their jet-setting life but eventually celebrated the occasion with friends and family at the end of September.Real talk: their engagement party was more extravagant than most weddings.

She wore this

We don’t need to tell you that JLo is a style icon… because the CFDA did it for us. The Council of Fashion Designers of America honoured Jen with the Icon Award at its annual ceremony in June and she rose to the occasion in dazzling fashion.Have you ever been faced with the dilemma of wanting to showcase your killer abs and wear a ballgown at the same time. She wore THIS

Jennifer’s most defining fashion moment was waaay back in 2000 when she broke the internet by wearing a green Versace dress to the Grammys that would go on to literally spark the inception of Google Images. How many people can claim they wore something so sensational, the internet gods had to figure out a new system of searching? One—that’s how many.In honour of the (almost) 20^th anniversary of that history-defining moment, JLo revived a version of the iconic Versace dress and strutted down the runway during Versace's Spring 2020 Milan Fashion Week show and everyone gasped in unison.

She had like 65 other jobs, too

We’ve covered the biggies, but when we think about all the little jobs JLo has done over the past year, our brains are about ready to combust. She performed a tribute to Motown with Smokey Robinson and Ne-Yo at the Grammys; she released a new single, “Medicine,” and a corresponding music video; she judged a season of World of Dance; she and A-Rod stunned at the Met Gala; she performed at the Elvis All-Star Tribute; launched a fragrance; and—most shocking of all—successfully completed a 10-day no sugar, no carbs challenge. How, we ask you? How?

She’s not even done yet

After all that, we would need at least six years of sleep (and a ton of sugar and carbs) to recover, but not the master. JLo isn’t showing any signs of slowing down heading into 2020 (is she running for president too??). She’s currently filming her next movie, Marry Me, and is set to co-headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show with Shakira.We’ll have whatever she’s having.
