Demi Lovato makes it Instagram official with new boyfriend Austin Wilson

Demi Lovato is moving on from Bachelor nation. ICYMI, the popstar was previously linked to Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelorette star Mike Johnson, but it appears their relationship has ended before it really started. But Lovato isn’t sitting home waiting for a rose, instead making things Instagram-official with new boyfriend Austin Wilson.Lovato and Wilson both posted pictures of each other, together, on their social media pages, with each uploading a different loved-up snap. Their announcements were coordinated, but still individual so it feels like so far, they’re nailing the new relationship thing. Lovato shared a black and white pic of Wilson kissing her on the cheek, with the pair standing in what appears to be her kitchen. Wilson is shirtless in the pic, showing off his large collection of tattoos. Lovato made her status clear with her caption, writing “My (heart emoji).”

Wilson went for full colour in his Instagram announcement, with their pair wearing coordinating black outfits. Taking advantage of a full-length mirror, the couple are already showing off their matching fashion sense, with the monochromatic look accented by Wilson’s bright pink hair. The model kept his caption simple and sweet, writing “My Love.”

It’s unclear when or how Demi and Austin met, but one thing we know for sure is that they shared a mutual friend in the late Thomas Trussell III. The model and part-time actor passed away in October after suffering an overdose, with the 31-year-old reportedly battling abuse issues for years. Both Wilson and Lovato posted tributes to Trussell following his death, with Lovato even getting a tattoo of a ‘T’ on her forearm.

So, who is Lovato’s new boyfriend? Wilson is a 25-year-old model living in Los Angeles who seems to have some connections to the music industry, with Sam Smith and Khalid both following Wilson on Instagram. His dad is skateboarding legend George Wilson, who was a member of the Zephyr Competition Team or Z-Boys in California. The group were pioneers of skateboarding in the 1970s and '80s and were the inspiration behind the film The Lords of Dogtown. Following George’s retirement from skateboarding, he started the denimwear line Rivi.Like Lovato, Wilson is also a big fan of tattoos, with the model often showing off his ink on Instagram. Also like Dovato, it appears that Wilson is in recovery. Wilson’s mother Ana Castronovo posted a tribute to Wilson on his 25^th birthday in May celebrating her son’s first year of sobriety.In addition to her new romance, Demi has also been busy working, most recently filming a guest appearance on Will & Grace. The popstar returned to her acting roots for the final season of the sitcom, with W&G fan Lovato posting several excited snaps from set.
