Demi Moore is set to release her memoir Inside Out and the Hollywood veteran is opening up about some of the most painful moments in her life, including the two times her ex-husband Ashton Kutcher cheated. In an excerpt of the book obtained by Radar Online, Moore says that Kutcher used the couples’ sexual activity to deflect from his affairs.Moore and Kutcher’s relationship dominated the headlines when the pair got together in 2003, with Moore 15 years older than Kutcher. Moore says that she fell for the actor quickly and that their relationship was perfect in the beginning, but a string of painful events broke the pair along the way. Revealing that she had a miscarriage at the six month mark, Moore then endured several IVF attempts, which failed. Soon after, Kutcher starred opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh in the film Spread and Kutcher told his wife that Leigh wasn’t comfortable with Moore on set, something Moore later found out was a lie (Leigh eventually dropped out of the film). "The bottom line was that she wasn’t worried about me being on set, he was," she wrote. "He wasn’t honest."Later, Kutcher asked his wife if they could have a threesome and she agreed, with the pair going to bed twice with a third party. Looking back, Moore says that she now knows she agreed to the threesomes for the wrong reasons. "I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be," she wrote, calling the sexual experience a "mistake."
In 2010, Moore was in New York filming a movie when she saw reports that Kutcher had cheated with a 21-year-old woman he had met while bowling with Moore’s daughter Rumer, adding that Kutcher’s decision to pick up a woman while with Moore’s child was an added "f**k you" on top of the cheating. The pair allegedly hooked up in Moore and Kutcher’s shared home and Moore said that her then-husband used their sexual past to deflect from his cheating. "Because we had brought a third party into our relationship, Ashton said, that blurred the lines and, to some extent, justified what he’d done," Moore wrote.Only one year later, Kutcher was again in the headlines, this time for cheating on Moore with 22-year-old Sara Leal while attending his That 70’s Show co-star Danny Masterson’s bachelor party in San Diego, the same weekend that Kutcher and Moore would have been celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary. Leal gave a candid interview about the affair, with Moore saying, "I felt sick to my stomach. I knew she wasn’t lying."Moore says that Kutcher moved out of their home on November 11, 2011 and the couple officially divorced in 2013. Kutcher, who has been married two Mila Kunis since 2015, has yet to respond to the allegations. At Wednesday’s premiere of her new movie Corporate Animals, Moore told People that she began writing her memoir in 2010 and said it wasn’t until now that she’s was ready to release the book. "I think my desire was to really get to a place where I am OK to really be seen," said Moore. "When there isn’t anything to protect. That’s a great spot."In addition to her detailing her miscarriage and troubled marriage to Kutcher, Moore’s new book also pulls back the curtain on her marriage to Bruce Willis and her issues with substance abuse. "I centered [the book] on a fundamental question, which is, 'How did I get here?'" said Moore. "Once I had the shape it became far easier because I wasn’t trying to answer or address everything. I just was answering that piece from where I kind of start the book, which is right at 50. And being able to really step in and accept yourself for all that you are, and have compassion for your self-judgment of all that you’re not."Inside Out hits bookshelves September 24, 2019.
