We’re finally getting a better picture of what went down in that hotel room in Paris on October 3 of last year. French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche has published the transcript of the statement Kim Kardashian made to French police, after being robbed at gunpoint of nearly $10 million in jewellery.

Simply reading the account gives us the chills, so we can only imagine how the reality TV star feels about the violence that took place at Paris’ “No Address” hotel during Fashion Week.

According to the transcript, Kim told police that the robbery took place at 4:30 a.m., Paris time, after she had parted ways with her sister Kourtney and her assistant who were preparing to go out. She returned to her room upstairs around 1 a.m. to do some work on her computer when this happened:

“I heard a noise at the door, like footsteps, and I shouted, asking, ‘Who’s there?'” Kim told police. “No one answered. I called my bodyguard at 2:56 a.m. Through the door, I saw two people arrive, plus the night man who was tied up.”

Sounds like a nightmare, doesn’t it? It gets worse.

The two men were wearing jackets with the word Police written on them, and one of the men had ski goggles on.

“It’s the one with the ski goggles who stayed with me,” the transcript reads. “He asked me with a strong French accent where was my ring. It was placed on the bedside table. It costs 4 million dollars.”

At first she told the man she didn’t know where the ring was, but when he pointed a “weapon” at her, she showed him. Kim, who is wearing nothing but a bathrobe this whole time, is then pushed down on the bed where the men put plastic straps on her, and tape over her legs, hands and mouth.

They then carry her to the bathroom, put her in the bathtub, finish pillaging her handbag and room and make off with the goods, including what Kim, at the time, thinks is $5 million in gems, and a couple of cell phones.

The transcript, which is an english translation and therefore a bit jarring to read, ends with Kim telling police that she wants to go home to the States to be with her children.

Thankfully, last week French police made some arrests in the robbery–17 in total, one of which was the brother of Kim’s Paris chauffeur.

The whole things sounds like a scene from a movie, and we can’t imagine how we would have reacted during or after such a terrifying ordeal. Frankly, we’re not surprised that the star has taken so much time away from the spotlight, but we’re certainly thankful that she’s making the moves to get back to some version of her normal life.
