Remember the scene in Shrek the Third, where the sassy princesses free themselves from imprisonment then embark on a rescue mission for the ogre and other trapped fairy tale characters? That was pretty good, for DreamWorks, but it just wasn’t … Disney-fied enough. So leave it to Disney to take things one step further. Because while one princess is good and a couple of princesses are even better, Disney is upping the stakes and putting all the Disney Princesses in one movie.

D23 Expo, Disney’s bi-annual convention, brought together what was easily the largest gathering of IRL Disney Princesses in one room.

The royalty in attendance, from left to right, is Paige O’Hara (Belle from Beauty and the Beast), Irene Bedard (Pocahontas), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel from Tangled), Auli’i Cravalho (Moana), Sarah Silverman (Vanellope Von Schweetz from Wreck-It Ralph), Kristen Bell (Anna from Frozen), Kelly Macdonald (Merida from Brave), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana from The Princess and the Frog), Linda Larkin (Jasmine from Aladdin), and Jodi Benson (Ariel from The Little Mermaid).

No, really, when you wish upon a star, this is what you get. Now add Olaf to the mix (or if you prefer Josh Gad as LeFou, that works too) and dreams really do come true.

Disney’s upcoming sequel Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet brings these 10 princesses (and more including Cinderella, Mulan and Elsa) together for the first time ever. But that’s not all. According to Entertainment Weekly, since the movie will take place in a meta world, and Disney owns Lucasfilm and Marvel properties, there’ll be some Star Wars and Marvel favourites in the mix as well. Think Stormtroopers, C-3PO and Iron Man.

This might be the most amazing thing Disney’s ever done. Wreck-It Ralph 2 hits theatres Nov. 21, 2018 so we have quite a ways to go. Guess we’ll have to keep busy re-watching our favourite Disney classics until then.
