North American Star Wars fans were blown away by the epic release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer earlier this week, but fans in East Asia got an even bigger treat.
To promote the movie, Disney literally put 500 stormtroopers on the Great Wall of China. The troopers, placed on the steps, made it look like a space invasion was taking place.

Fans stood around in awe and took selfies with the eerie-looking stormtroopers.
So why go through such great lengths to promote a movie in China? Firstly, the Chinese movie-going market just surpassed America’s, making it the largest movie market in the world. And secondly, aside from making a lot of money there, prior to June 2015, movie-lovers never had access to any of the previous Star Wars instalments. Since the government so strictly controls all media there, none of the movies had ever debuted in theatres. Until now.
So, China, are you ready?
