When Drake cancelled his Toronto concert Monday night, fans in the singer’s hometown were not impressed. In fact, they were downright angry. Apparently the postponement was for a good cause though — the 6ix God was visiting 11-year-old Sofia Sanchez who had recently posted a video of herself doing the “In My Feelings” Challenge in the hallway of the Lurie Children’s Heart Center in Chicago where she is a patient.

Sanchez was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and underwent open heart surgery at the end of July. She is currently waiting for a heart transplant and just celebrated her 11th birthday on August 18. She had two birthday wishes: to get a new heart and to meet “her idol” Drake. Now, Drake’s no miracle worker, but he could certainly make one of those things happen.

Monday, Sofia was in her hospital bed when Drake came into the room and surprised the young patient, telling her he cancelled a concert to make the visit happen. The two took selfies, exchanged autographs and Drake did an impromptu private performance of “God’s Plan.”

Drake even posted two pictures of his little fan on his own Instagram.

“Me and my love Sofia talking about Bieber and Owls and Basketball,” he captioned one.

The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago posted a video of the celebrity meeting and Sofia’s reaction on their social media channels later.

“She came in with heart failure. She was so ill,” said Dr. Bradley Marino, one of Sofia’s pediatric cardiologists, “Having this one special day where she doesn’t have to be a sick patient — she doesn’t have to be a girl waiting for a heart, she’s just a little girl who’s a fan of a great artist — it’s pretty special.”
