UPDATE: It happened and it was amazing! See below for the images of Kate visiting with the cast and crew.
It seems Downton Abbey is the place to be. The estate has seen its share of visitors but it’s safe to say no one like the Duchess of Cambridge has graced the Crawleys and their staff with their presence.
Unlike some of the appearances Kate has made for charities and do-gooding awesomeness, this visit seems like it’s purely for fun, something a woman who is eight months along needs, don’t you think?
Kate, who is known to be a fan of the show, will head to Ealing Studios in London and get a tour from creator Julian Fellowes. She’ll meet the crew, see the costumes and check out the various sets, including the servants’ quarters where she will watch a scene being shot. Following that, she’ll join a reception where she’ll chat with cast members, writers and producers.
A Palace source told People that it’s unknown who will be filming on March 12 but stars Dame Maggie Smith (Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham), Hugh Bonneville (Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham) and Elizabeth McGovern (Cora, Countess of Grantham) are just some of the actors filming the Emmy-winning series’ sixth season. We’re sure however that Kate might be able to draw most, if not all, of the actors into the studio, even if it is their day off.
